Money Saving Strategies?
I've shared a bunch of my own money saving strategies with you. Now it's your turn to share one with me and the rest of the class. What is one good strategy you could use to cut your expenses? (Remember your grammar and spelling, and post using a first name and initial only)

ReplyDeletemy parents have a system for my siblings and I that we get a dollar a day for doing our chore, making our bed, and keeping our room clean. We get paid at the end of the week for everything we have done. My parents have made us put some money in savings, tithing, and the rest for activities. They want us to learn at an early age how to budget our money so by the time we are adults it won't be a difficult new thing to have to do.
ReplyDeleteI talked to my parents, and asked them what the used to save money. They said they would avoid buying things using credit. Also they like to use coupons,shop the sales, make meals that food that is on sale, putting 10% of each pay check into an account for emergencies.They told me there was this old saying.."Use it up, wear it out, make it do,or do without."
ReplyDeletewell i can save money on gas when i take people places and have them pitch in for gas.. and by talking to my mom if you put so much money a month in a saving acount you can end up buying something nice in the long run and if you pay your bills on time they cant slam you with a late fee and that will save you money too. and learning how to no buy everything when you go to the store will save you money and not buying expensive thing that the non fancy things there are just about the same.
ReplyDeletei asked my dad, how does he save his money and how does he always keep the bills paid, he said put the extra money u have away in an account and dont touch it, an only spend the money that u need on the bills that need to be paid.then i asked him what about food an clothes? he said only buy them when u need them the most if your hungry then make you something to eat if you need clothes go buy them jus dont get all expensive clothes that wont last very long
ReplyDeletewell you can invest your money in stoks that way you dont have to pay taxis on it or you just dont spend eney money and just save it ...
ReplyDeleteOne of my families ways of saving money is to only water at night in short periods not to waste the water and too also only mow it once every other week it saves on gas and it also is easier to keep the grass alive
ReplyDeleteWell there are a few things that you can do to save money. Some things are: only go grociery shopping every 2 weeks, grow a garden and bottle things from your garden, get rid of your old freezer if you don't use it, unplug anything that you don't use, only buy clothes when you need it.
ReplyDeleteWhen you go to the store and you get change back. Instead of just settin it anywhere. You should put it in a jar. Eventually it will add up.
ReplyDeleteTalking with my Aunt about money saving strategies, she was telling me all of her plans for saving. She said only a few really worked. One of the best strategies she said was to have a checking account, a saving account, and cash in hand. Leave most the money in the accounts, and only take out so much a week. Also she said she always had a plan with the bank accounts, and she would check the accounts everyday in order to know how much she could take out and leave in.
ReplyDeleteSave your money and don't spend your money on crazy stuff you dont need. Have a spending range and don't overspend and save the left over money where you can't get ahold of it until you really really need it. =]
ReplyDeleteMy parents don't use credit cards. They avoid them at all costs. My mom thinks that by not using credit it will save her from debt. She also uses the envelope system. She puts a certain amount of money into each category for spending and bills. If money runs out in one envelope then no more of that item can be purchased. We find that it helps us to keep track of our money and recipts also go into the envelope.
ReplyDeleteMy wallet has a bunch of pockets, I have one just for money. So when I want to save my money but still have cash I just put it in a different pocket so I forget about it. I wont remember its there until I truely need it.
ReplyDeleteyeah the thing that i do when i really want somethings i just think what my mom always says "do you need it" and then the thing that i really wanted i dont think ill get cause it will just be another clutter thing in a month or so. :)
ReplyDeleteMy mom told me once that if I put a hundred dollars into savings every month from the time I'm 16 to the time I'm about 25 and then just leave it alone and not touch it, I'll have about 4 million dollars by the time I retire. So that's what I've been doing.
ReplyDeleteYou can save money by spending it on cheap clothing that looks good on you all the time along with other item that will last you and your needs for a long time with out a lot of repairs or maintance.
ReplyDeleteUse cold water instead of hot water while washing your clothes. Take shorter showers. If you water your lawn, do it in the early morning or late afternoon. My mom sets a lot of rules for spending and also how mush she drives a week, so that helps with gas. Also, she makes us kids pay for our own insurance so that helps her budget.
ReplyDeleteOne way my parents save money is when they go shopping they write a list of what we need and stick to it. They also use generic brandsfor some items.
ReplyDeleteyou can invest your money in property because its value is always going up. you can also put your money in a back account and let it gain intrest

ReplyDeleteA good way that i have found that i can save money is by knowing which bills i have to pay and when then taking a set amount of money out of each check until i have the correct amount for the bill then i pay the bill whether it is due then or not.

ReplyDeleteMy family saves money by only watering once a day and usually in the morning. Also my parents make sure to put money aside every month and hide it somewhere for emergencies for when they are away or if we really need it for something.
ReplyDeleteYou can make your own bullets so you dont have to pay as much to buy new ones. You cna invest money in land.
ReplyDeleteYou can save hundreds of dollars on gas by walking or riding a bike instead of driving.

ReplyDeleteWell, my family has been through many financial problems. So, pretty much, we're just learning. I can't give an idea other than what you already know such as; always save any extra money you have, refrain from buying things you don't need, and budget. Keep track of how much you spend and how much you save!
ReplyDeleteDon't go into debt to buy something that really isn't that important. Save your money and be patient because in the end without all the interest charges you are actually saving your money.
